"This is something that will help them forget about the past and start a new life," Aerosmith's Steven Tyler told NBC News. On Tuesday, the star singer spoke about a house that was built in Tennessee for abused girls.
In an interview, Steven Tyler also said, "I hope this will help them solve all the problems and start a new life. I will continue to finance such houses in other states too." This house is called "Janie's Got a Gun". The hit was written by Aerosmith in early 1989 and dedicated to a girl who enjoyed drugs to forget about the violence. Steven Tyler spent $400+ thousand to create this project. According to the Administration for Children and Families, every fourth American girl is subjected to violence in various forms.
Janie's Fund was founded in 2015 to show everyone that violence is one of the biggest problems in the USA today. Officials said the girls would spend 5-7 months in this house to forget all the pain and reunite with their families. Grammy-winning singer said, "We all know the scale of this problem, so I would like to change situation. Such houses will be open in other states and cities to help all abused girls."
