Welcome to my channel Islamic history Islamic history spans over 1,400 years and traces the rise, expansion, and development of Islam as a global religion and civilization. It begins in the early 7th century CE in the Arabian Peninsula with the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who received the revelations that make up the Quran, the holy book of Islam. Following his death in 632 CE, the leadership passed to the Rashidun Caliphs, who expanded the Islamic state beyond Arabia. The Islamic Golden Age (8th to 13th centuries) marked a period of remarkable achievements in science, medicine, mathematics, literature, and art, particularly under the Abbasid Caliphate based in Baghdad. Islamic civilization influenced and was influenced by other cultures, leading to a rich exchange of knowledge. Throughout the centuries, various Islamic empires and dynasties emerged, including the Umayyads, Abbasids, Fatimids, Seljuks, Ottomans, Safavids, and Mughals. These empires spread Islam to Africa, Europe, and Asia through trade, conquest, and missionary work. Islamic history also includes the challenges faced by Muslim communities, such as colonialism, reform movements, and the struggle for independence in the modern era. Today, Islam continues to be a major world religion with diverse cultures and traditions, united by a shared faith in one God (Allah) and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
