Kendobutsu

Myanmar songs performed in western format as well as in traditional way are featured in the channel. Western music in Myanmar became popular sometime around 1950s with local singers signed contract with record producers. Songs in records were played on gramophone during that period. After a few years later, young people started playing western musical instruments especially guitar and formed local bands. The first recording studio was set up around 1968-70 producing Myanmar stereo songs. Local music scene began thriving with rock songs and the stream was added with pop, punk, rap, etc. as well in later part of its stream.
