New York police blamed a man from Brooklyn for the brutal murder and burning of his mother's body. Paulette Reeves, 67 did not come to work (Crown Heights middle school) for several days and her boss asked the police to visit her. The arriving officers saw a terrible picture. At first, her son Jason said that his mother had gone somewhere, but the cops had heard a terrible smell and searched the apartment. In one of the cupboards they found the burnt body of a woman. The investigation found that the woman received several knife wounds to the face and hands. Some parts of her body had significant burns, NY Daily News reports.
The police arrested the man and charged him with brutal murder. The neighbor said that the woman had said several times that her son wanted to kill her, but she did not know what to do. Asia Djones said "Paulette Reeves has been my neighbor for many years. She was a beautiful and cheerful woman, but her son had problems with drugs and mental disorders."
Neighbors also said that Paulette was trying to find people, who were selling drugs to her son, because she was worried about him no matter what. Later, officials said Jason pleaded guilty and he will receive punishment.
