The Secret of the Great Pyramids in the Middle of Lake Qarun or Lake Moeris in Fayoum
When Herodotus visited Egypt in the 4th century BC, he toured the country from north to south. He went to Fayoum and encountered Lake Qarun, also known as "Lake Moeris," which is the Greek equivalent of the Egyptian word "Mer-Wer," meaning the Great Lake. In the middle of the lake, he discovered two large pyramids. At the top of each pyramid, there was a colossal statue of King Amunhotep III.
