Information Department, Government of Gilgit-Baltistan launch two-day winter sports festival *محکمہ اطلاعات،حکومت گلگت بلتستان* *دوسرا دو روزہ ونٹر سپورٹس فیسٹول کا آغاز* *15 جنوری 2025* استور۔ The natural beauty of Gilgit-Baltistan attracts tourists from all over the world with its rich charms even in winter. The natural views of this region are as charming as they are during summer, they also have a special attraction for tourists in winter. In order to provide entertainment opportunities to people confined to their homes in the harsh cold weather and to promote winter tourism through winter sports, the second two-day Winter Sports Festival has started under the auspices of the District Administration Astore in collaboration with the Tourism Department and the Pakistan Army. The festival was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Astore Muhammad Tariq. Snow football, volleyball, shot put, ghatal polo, pandok and other regional traditional sports competitions will be held in this two-day Winter Sports Festival. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Astore Muhammad Tariq said that the main objective of organizing the Winter Sports Festival is to create entertainment opportunities for the public and to develop winter tourism through various sports. Football, volleyball, paddock, ball throw, and gatthal polo competitions were held today in the Winter Sports Festival, in which the players showed excellent performance.
