Where to watch whales in Europe

The Azores Islands, which are easily accessible from mainland Portugal, for example, by flying from Lisbon Airport or Porto. A chain of long-extinct volcanoes with lakes lapping in their craters, tourists descend into their mouths, and pots of meat and vegetables are buried in the hot slopes in order to get them in a few hours in the form of the Azores' signature "cosidoux". It never gets winter here, and they manage to grow grapes, pineapples, and even tea on the mineral-rich soil. Nobody grows colorful hydrangeas here, they grow themselves wherever they want. Every day, fishermen go to the open ocean for a fresh catch, where sperm whales greet them with blows of their tails on the water and fountains, and schools of dolphins, as soon as they see the boats, rush to race with them.
