The tallest tree in the world. The tallest sequoia, named "Hyperion," was discovered in the summer of 2006 by Chris Atkins and Michael Taylor in Redwood National Park, Northern California, USA. The tree's height is 115.61 meters. Before Hyperion, the tallest tree ever recorded was the "Dyerville Giant," also in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Its height was measured after it fell in March 1991 and was 113.4 meters. Its estimated age was about 1,600 years. Currently, 15 known living trees exceed 110 meters in height, and 47 trees exceed 105 meters. #hiperion #sequoia #thetallesttreeintheworld
